Commitment to Excellence

Pharmacy compounding is the art and science of preparing customized medications for patients. At one time, nearly all prescriptions were compounded. With the advent of mass drug manufacturing in the 1950s and ‘60s, compounding rapidly declined. The pharmacist’s role quickly devolved to that of a mere dispenser of manufactured dosage forms, and most pharmacists no longer were trained to compound medications. Unfortunately, this mass produced, “one-size-fits-all” method for medications meant that many patients’ needs were not properly met. Central Drug knows the importance of having the right medications, custom tailored to you and your needs.
Founded in the early 1950s as a pharmacy, gift shop and soda fountain, Central Drug is now the only PCAB accredited sterile and non-sterile compounding pharmacy within 100 miles of Victoria, Texas.
